A rare footage taken during a session in 2001 on VH1 network who saw Gary Moore perform 5 tracks from his album Back to the Blues, released on that same year, and at the end of show he perform his 1978’s hit Parisienne Walkways, written with his friend and former bandmate Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) and released for his debut solo album Back On The Street with Lynott on vocals. That was a beautiful and intensive version, and you know Gary was extremley gifted, he never played half heartedhe always played in a free vibe of improvisation and his musical phrasing was always perfect.
Parisienne Walkways was one of Moore’s greatest hits and established him as one of the greatest composers of guitar ballads.

I don’t know where and when exactly it was filmed but I assure you it is really worth.

Al Di Meola Live Poland 2011

Today I want to invite you to hear guitar virtuoso Al Di Meola,  perform an amazing version of “Parisienne Walkways” by Gary Moore & Phil Lynott on flamenco guitar, followed by Al’s “Siberiana” from his album “Pursuit of Radical Rhapsody”. The performance was filmed Live at the Thanks Jimi Festival in April 30th, on 2011 in Wroclaw, Poland, by Black Cat Studio Pro.

That was a great tribute to Gary passed away a few months before on that same year, on February 6, 2011.
